Shannon Barber

Shannon has worked in the Human Services field for over 20 years. She began her career at Heritage Centers as a habilitation specialist before moving on to service coordination with Heritage Christian Services to work with adults with disabilities to reach their life goals. Later, she provided service coordination with Therapeutic Link for Children working with children and their families in the early intervention program.

Shannon's multifaceted career path then took her to Niagara University, where she initially served as the office manager for the Career Center. Currently, she holds the position of program manager at the Institute on Disability Awareness, showcasing her dedication to advancing awareness and understanding of disability-related issues. 

Shannon volunteered at Elderwood Nursing care facility during college and also served as the president of the Lewiston Porter School PTA. She volunteers frequently with the local Kiwanis Chapter of Lewiston. She is married with three teenage children.
